Modern version of the timeless play, MACBeth
A modern adaptation of Shakespeare's play Macbeth was created by the cast of "Bell Shakespeare". The Scottish play is performed in a creative modern way for a younger audience to connect to, the Shakespearean still remains but the way in which the play is broadcasted and shown to the audience gives it a more fun and modern feel with pace, power and passion. Shakespeare’s classic play of dark and bloody deeds, ambition, desire, and the highest of stakes are met in a way of entertainment for the 21st century.
The opening scene of the play, with the three weird sisters has been modernised and interpreted in many different ways. For example in Roman Polanski's version, he sets the scene with the witches at the beach. Where as Rupert Goold has taken a completely different approach to this scene, having the sisters as nurses in a hospital doing their rituals and finally Geoffrey Wright has had made the girls into a more attractive light, not making them old and wicked looking. But instead innocent and presentable.
